Most table runners are 180 g/m² and they creep: put a bowl down at one end and the whole thing walks two centimetres toward it. This one is 300 g/m², which is nearly the weight of upholstery linen, and 620 g of cloth stays where you put it. Two hundred centimetres covers a six-seat table with 15 cm hanging at each end, which is the drop that reads as deliberate rather than short. The corners are mitred and the hem is double-turned at 2 cm, so the edge has enough weight to fall straight instead of curling. It is washed before cutting and will move about another 2 % on its first wash, which is inside the tolerance of the size above. Iron it damp if you like a flat table; leave it rumpled if you do not. Linen looks intentional either way, which is the reason we sell linen.
