Hook rail · blackened steel

A rail with five welded hooks, which is a thing every kitchen needs and every kitchen improvises badly with adhesive strips that fail in August. The bar is 4 mm steel, blackened and then lacquered so the finish is a chemical colour rather than paint that chips off the hooks first. Each hook is welded, not screwed, and rated at 8 kg, which is a full cast-iron skillet with room to spare; the whole rail takes 25 kg. Two fixings are in the box with masonry plugs, because that is what most walls are. If your wall is plasterboard you need toggle anchors we do not supply, and you should hit a stud rather than trust them with 25 kg of pans. It sits 12 mm off the wall, which is enough clearance to hook a pan on one-handed and not so much that the rail casts a shadow line down the tiles.
